EU data residency
EU data residency means the durable copies of your data are held in data centres inside the European Union. On Cloudflare it is a property requested when a store is created, not a naming convention: without the jurisdiction flag the platform may rebalance data to another region.
What it means
Residency constrains where data rests, which is only part of a GDPR position: the transfer rules, the sub-processor list and the legal basis for processing still have to be stated. It is, though, the part that cannot be retrofitted — a store created without the jurisdiction set has to be recreated to acquire it.
How SwiftTune uses it
Every durable store the platform provisions — the database, the object storage and any other persistent binding — is created with the EU jurisdiction. The globally replicated key-value cache is never given personal data, because it is global by design. The Privacy Policy lists the sub-processors this rests on.
